[Tracklist] THE HISTORY OF YOJI BIOMEHANIKA [EPISODE 3] on LUCID / INSOMNIAC RADIO
#01 SIX HOURS (ORIGINAL MIX)
This track truly marked the beginning of my TECH DANCE era. Released in 2007 as a 12-inch vinyl and CD single, it featured a remix by Fred Baker with a strong tech trance flavor on the B-side. Both the original mix and the remix are compiled on the album “A QUARTER CENTURY OF YOJI BIOMEHANIKA [THE ERA OF TECH DANCE 2007-2013]”, and still available.

#02 TECHY TECHY 20240413
TECHY TECHY is a very unique piece that represents my tech dance era, and the original was released in 2008.
The version I played this episode was actually a very special one. Last year, an event called “Hi-Tech” was held at Japan’s big venue ZEROTOKYO, and I was perform specially a tech dance set . This is the precious file I updated specifically for that event.
The file was later made available for a limited time on my Bandcamp, but it is no longer available.

#03 TECHTRIS 20240413
Techtris was originally released in 2008 by Hellhouse Digital, which I ran, and was produced by Fabio Stein. However, for the Tech Dance Set mentioned in #02, I actually reworked it. Though “reworked” might be a different—it’s more like a replica (laughs). I also made this available on my Bandcamp for a limited time, but it’s no longer available.
#04 ID
#05 MORE THAN RAVE
One of the five tracks compiled on the CD maxi single “SANDWHICH EP” released in Japan in 2011. It was also featured on the MIXED DJ album ‘VIBLE 03’ released the same year. This track is compiled on the album “A QUARTER CENTURY OF YOJI BIOMEHANIKA [THE ERA OF TECH DANCE 2007-2013]” and is still available .

#06 AIRPORT (VOX MIX)
This track also represents my tech dance era, and overseas industry insiders unanimously praised it as “the dawn of a new era!” The airport announcement effect and lyrics within the song are very much my style, don’t you think? Jason, who was my tour manager at the time, understood my vision and wrote the lyrics for me.
The 2008 CD MAXI release compiled three versions, but the two versions excluding the Tech Dance Euphoria Mix were included in the album “A QUARTER CENTURY OF YOJI BIOMEHANIKA [THE ERA OF TECH DANCE 2007-2013]”.

#07 NEEDS (SINGLE VERSION)
This track was released on my birthday in 2013.
Back in the late ’80s to early ’90s, I went through a phase where I was completely obsessed with ambient house. Among those, Manuel Gottsching’s e2-e4 and also Sueño Latino totally blew me away.
Needs might be an unconscious homage to that era.
This single version is still available today.

Note: A house version of this track is included as a bonus track on the album ‘Chapter X’, released in 2015. If you’re interested, please check it out.
#08 ACID ROCK
This was released in 2011 under the alias Bruno Sanmetalica, a fictional guitarist. I was heavily influenced by Belgian New Beat from the late 80s. This track is based on a song called ACID ROCK that I loved back then.

#09 SANDWHICH (ORIGINAL MIX)
This version was compiled for the CD maxi single “SANDWHICH EP” released in Japan in 2011. A digital version was also distributed worldwide. It’s a party tune created by tweaking that well-known synthesizer lead. My photo on the artwork gained a reputation for being scary (lol). It’s a fun track. It’s included on the album “A QUARTER CENTURY OF YOJI BIOMEHANIKA [THE ERA OF TECH DANCE 2007-2013]”.

#11 DON’T WAKE ME FROM THE DREAM (2010 SUMMER EDITION)
This is a summer remix I worked in 2010 of “DON’T WAKE ME FROM THE DREAM,” originally compiled on the 2008 CD maxi single “AIRPORT.” It was provided for Konami’s Beatmania game, so it’s well-known among game fans too.
It is included on the album “A QUARTER CENTURY OF YOJI BIOMEHANIKA [THE ERA OF TECH DANCE 2007-2013]”.

#12 LATCH ME
This is a track I released in 2011 under the alias SICK 36. It’s a party tune that I tinkering some audio samples from the 49ers’ “Touch Me.”
It’s compiled on the album “A QUARTER CENTURY OF YOJI BIOMEHANIKA [THE ERA OF TECH DANCE 2007-2013].”

#13 ETERNAL 2010
In 2011, I remixed the track “ETERNAL’97” originally released in the late 90s by the team ETERNAL RHYTHM, led by Carl Cox, and released drom UK label Nukleuz. This one is available for digital download on Beatport, Apple Music, and other platforms.
